Some reasons why I think “the end of the world” is not starting this weekend…

Apocalypse1

Sigh, only 3 days to go…

This is a source from one of the radio stations punting the doctrine of 21 May 2011:

http://www.familyradio.com/graphical/literature/judgment/judgment.html

1 Thessalonians 5 : 19 – 22

KJV ~ “19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not the prophesyings. 21 Prove all things ( NKJV English says > “Test all things” ); hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.”

My thoughts:

1.1. 2 Peter 3:8 – there may be a measurement defined here (1d=1000yrs) but…

1.2. Gen 7:4God was speaking of Noah’s time in this verse; dunno how he/she interprets /relates Noah’s event as everyone else’s.

2.1. He/she measured 7000 years according to which calendar? Gregorian/Hebrew/Islamic? Surely the number of days per year makes a difference according to how many years you measure.

2.2. There are even more factors as to when “they” ( the first batch of people to make a calendar ) actually implemented it.

2.3. Not to mention the questions of which kings/rulers changed/implemented which calendars when.

2.4.1. Did he/she take into account leap years?

2.4.2. If so, did “they” ( the first batch of people to make a calendar ) track the days before they discovered leap years?

3. Matthew 25:1-13 ( Parable of the Ten Virgins )

There is a lot to be learned from this scripture about the scenario of the “end times” but I’ll just highlight verse 13 which tells us when “the end” will begin…

KJV ~ “13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”

Yeah sure, so you could probably say to me which year it may be but even then, you would have to show me a little more calculations than a hunch and a multiplier.

Anyhow, I’m sure the result will speak for themselves and I hope the people involved come right; it must be tough to “leave everything for nothing”.

HTML5 FYI – has the strike tag been struck out?

April 19, 2011 Leave a comment
Html5_strike

<s> and <strike> are no longer supported in HTML5 but not all is lost…

You may now use the “<del>” tag or the CSS attribute with the following value “text-decoration: line-through;”.

So which browsers still support the good ol’ strike tag?

  • Chrome: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Firefox: 1, 2, 3
  • Internet Explorer: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
  • Opera: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
  • Safari: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
